This set of libraries include general utility classes for the Java™ platform, like:

• A printf-style formatting system.
• A StringTokenizer replacement.
• Wildcard-based FileFilter implementations.

Subpackages

JCLF is currently divided in two subpackages: the base package and the alarm package.

External dependencies

The libraries require a Java™ Runtime Environment (Standard Edition), version 5 or later. If your computer does not have such an environment, you can download it from Oracle Software Downloads.

Some of the library packages require the following free software packages:

• Apache Log4J.
• Jakarta Commons Codec.
• Jakarta Commons Digester.
• Jakarta ORO.
